A new Christmas tradition (for me at least)...

Has anyone heard of "Elf on the Shelf"? I hope you have! My mom got it for the boys to start as a tradition! I think its the cutest thing ever! I'm sappy for holiday traditions.

Let me try to explain what hopefully will be a tradition for us! Elf on the Shelf is an elf that comes from the North Pole, one of Santa's helpers who listens & keeps an eye on the little ones from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve. Each night he goes back to the North Pole and gives Santa a daily report of how the little ones have been. When your Elf (who you name and actually register at http://www.elfontheshelf.com/) returns in the morning he is in a different spot. The idea is to have the little ones look for your elf each morning. He is also a friendly reminder for them to behave threw out the day. Now the little ones can not touch the elf but they can talk to him and tell him their wishes. Your elf can not talk back but he listens and watches very well.

Marvin, our Elf!
We have already named our Elf, his name is Marvin. He is also registered and he even came early to get comfortable for his first day here at the Murphy house! After we registered him Santa even sent us a letter and we got adoption papers on Marvin!

However Logan and Mason are in bed so tomorrow they will get to listen to the letter from Santa and find Marvin.

I hope this turns into a fun tradition for the whole family! Logan might be still a little young to understand the whole idea but I know he will have fun finding Marvin every morning. I cant wait to see all the strange places he rests every day (hope to take a picture daily).
Marvin found a comfortable spot for his first day!

P.s. More actually information, better explanation of the whole thing go to the actual website, http://www.elfontheshelf.com/.
